About Lisa

BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, EMDR Therapist and Supervisor.

Hi, I am Lisa a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, EMDR therapist and supervisor. I have a passion for supporting people who are struggling with their mental health. I am a compassionate psychological therapist who offers evidence based treatment for a range of mental health difficulties. No two people are the same and I strive

to ensure that the therapy I provide is collaborative, safe and individualised to the persons needs.

I have worked in the mental health sector for 20 years in both private and NHS settings. I started my journey working in mental health hospitals and then trained as a registered Mental Health Nurse, qualifying in 2011. Working as a mental health nurse in various settings including hospitals and community teams allowed me to gain broad experience and build therapeutic relationships with patients. However, I never felt I was able to give people what they needed due to time restraints and the nature of the role.

In 2014 I decided to embark on my Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training at the University of Exeter, qualifying in 2016. This allowed me to meet with patients in a setting that was therapeutic, confidential and allowed time to fully consider the psychological needs of those I worked with.  I have since worked in the NHS in Talking Therapy services both as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Team lead. In addition to CBT, I provide EMDR therapy following completing training in 2023.

For the last 3 years I have had the privilege of being the Operational Lead for the Colleague Support Service for the NHS Trust I work for. Within this role I support colleagues offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR and supervision.
